OAuth providers
Connect end-user accounts on supported OAuth providers.
Alter ships with a broad catalog of pre-configured OAuth providers covering productivity, communication, CRM, finance, design, and developer tools. Each provider has a setup guide with the property table, OAuth-credential creation flow, and SDK code example. The provider cards below are the current inventory, so the published count cannot drift from the catalog.
For step-by-step setup, see Setting up an app. For the runtime flow, see Call APIs on behalf of users.
The OAuth grant records the end user who approved access, but the provider credential’s own principal can differ. For example, Slack’s standard Alter integration requests a bot token and calls Slack as the installed app bot, not as the approving user. Each provider guide states the exact token contract.
Some provider cards offer Managed credentials available. That is a live
deployment capability, not a fixed subset of this page: check the portal badge
or run alter providers list-catalog and inspect the MANAGED column
(managed_credentials_available in JSON). The table’s MANAGED SCOPES
column and JSON managed_approved_scopes field report the exact scopes Alter’s
current OAuth client is configured/approved to request. Managed credentials
use Alter’s provider OAuth app, branding, callback URLs, and shared quota. See
Credentials managed by Alter
for limitations and when to use your own OAuth app.
For any provider not listed here that supports OAuth 2.0, use the Custom OAuth template — point Alter at the authorize / token / revoke URLs and Alter handles the rest.
